DOWNERS GROVE, IL (May 23, 2000) –In response to a long standing need for a computer-based, comprehensive, loss prevention management system, newly formed LP Software, Inc. announced the release of LPMS™, version 1.02, the first version deployed in a live environment. According to Brian Eskra, president and founder of LP Software, “The LPMS™, Loss Prevention Management System, is a powerful, user-friendly software system designed specifically for the retail loss prevention mission. Whether running in a LAN, WAN, or a distributed environment, this powerful software management system alleviates most of the time consuming administrative tasks and allows the loss prevention agent to really focus on the preventive aspects of the job.”
With the LPMS™, loss prevention managers and agents now have a system that can be utilized to:
- Track events such as court dates and actions
- Provide accurate and consistent incident management via built in wizard technology
- Produce dynamic and detailed written or graphic reports
- Summarize reports
- Search database for related incidents
- Quickly recall vital reports and statistics.
- Track credit card fraud
- Manage civil recoveries
- Provide theft analysis
- Manage contacts
Users of the LPMS™ are not faced with an extensive training requirement. A brief orientation is all that’s usually needed. “We’ve used an object oriented methodology in designing LPMS™”, said Roy Haehnel, chief developer. “This type of approach has resulted in a management system that makes sense, is user-friendly, and works for you instead of you working for it.”
The LPMS™ is powered by a Microsoft (MS) Visual Basic front-end and is generally deployed in one of three environments; the stand-alone MS Access 2000 version; the LAN/WAN version powered by MS Access 2000/MSDE, or the Internet version powered by SQL Server.
According to Andrew Smith, vice president and director of sales, the LPMS™ has gained instant recognition. Smith said,” We’re obviously delighted with the early success. The interest is growing quickly. Our first clients to implement LPMS™ are very satisfied.”
LP Software, Inc. is a privately owned software development company committed to the development of best-cost, world class solutions that revolutionize the loss prevention mission and contribute greatly to the success of our highly valued customers.
