Software, announced the release of Version 2.0 of LPMS™ , the loss prevention industry’s first Internet-based loss prevention management system. "From the moment of the first release of LPMS™ two years ago, we have had a tremendous interest from many retailers," said Eskra. "Because they recognized an enormous potential in the LPMS™ , many of our customers have worked with us hand-in-hand to develop most of the enhancements and features in Version 2.0", Eskra added. " Without a doubt, LPMS™ 2.0 is a market-driven product that is truly ready for prime time."
According to Andrew Smith, executive vice president of marketing and sales, the Version 2.0 enhancements and features range from high mission impact functions to screen visibility improvements. "One of the new exciting features is the addition of the "PREVENTION" case-type that enables recording of averted theft incidents," said Smith. " A few good entries there can really help answer questions about the effectiveness of a loss prevention program," he added. "After all, averting loss is the primary objective of the loss prevention mission."
Another significant case management feature in Version 2.0 is the addition of an employee import module that uses XML (Extensible Markup Language) to import employee data from personnel database systems. By using XML, LPMS™ can easily import from many types of databases thereby eliminating the need to manually duplicate common personnel data.
Other enhancements included in Version 2.0 are:
- Improved detailing of the Summary Report, to include a "division" breakdown, date filtering, and other sorting criteria
- Addition of a "Restitution Collected" Report
- Addition of restitution-case search feature
- Advanced search feature allows searching by division, region, and district.
- Pull-down menus are now cached at the workstation to allow faster case loading; significantly speeding up dial-up access to the system.
- Two additional user options have been added to provide a total of 5 distinct security levels.
- Built-in e-mail and web site links allow the user to contact LP Software support while working within the application.
- Several other enhancements aimed at improving navigation within the system include, extending view options and improving case management efficiency.
